Valentine’s week is around now and is at the top of priority list of most. Valentine’s Day may be the most romantic day of the year; after all, is there any other day solely dedicated to love and affection? While it’s almost too easy to get caught up in the sugar-laden, heart-shaped holiday, it’s especially important to take time for yourself and consider your own emotions in the midst of all the sweet nothings.

The one day a year that celebrates love, February 14, AKA the one day a year your Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, WhatsApp and many more feeds fill up with posts of roses, chocolates, gifts and dinners. But I’m here on the single road (and loving it) and I’m not missing the opportunity to celebrate the greatest love of all. Self love!

Loving yourself doesn’t mean you prioritize your personal needs over those of others, but it also means that you don’t subordinate them. Including yourself in your circle of love and compassion multiplies love in your life and dissolves your sense of separation. So drop the self-judgment and self-sacrifice and try something new this Valentine’s Day: Adore yourself.
Rather than judging and criticizing yourself, accept everything about you and your life flaws and everything that makes you feel insecure. Today, right now, you are wonderful, accept it. Feeling good in the present moment creates the energy to change for the better. Get to know who you are, the dark and the light. Embrace and love all the repressed and lonely parts of yourself even those you may feel ashamed or scared of.
Have the courage to love and see yourself as the divine soul you are. Live joyously with enthusiasm. Serve the world and inspire others by loving and having a great relationship with yourself. Trust me, you will feel whole and complete regardless of your relationship status.

When you wake up in the morning, you are with yourself, laying in bed at night you are with yourself, walking down the street in the sunlight you are with yourself. What kind of person do you want to walk down the street with? What kind of person do you want to wake up in the morning with? What kind of person do you want to see at the end of the day before you fall asleep? Because that person is yourself, it’s your responsibility to be that person you want to be with. I know I want to spend my life with a person who knows how to let things go, who’s not full of hate, who’s able to smile and be carefree. So that’s who I have to be.
Don’t worry if people think you’re crazy. (I have heard this phrase a hundred times and you readers must have too!) In fact, you are crazy. You have that kind of intoxicating insanity that lets other people dream outside of the lines and appreciate your own charm! So pamper yourself and live your life to the fullest!
