From A Former Procrastinator

It’s a Sunday night, the clock ticks to 1 AM, when you work furiously to get a task done while silently cursing yourself to have the delayed the work till the 11th hour. Every delay is dangerous with its own “blessing”. Procrastination is an art of coping up with yesterday which you surely don’t want to master.

Procrastination is not the same as being lazy. Procrastination is when you choose to do something else instead of the task that you know is the need of the hour. In contrast, laziness is the inactivity and unwillingness to perform an act.

So, how to stop procrastination? Here are the series of measures that I adopted. First and foremost of all, identify and accept that you procrastinate. Then ask yourself and find out the reason behind it. Give yourself time and start committing to even the smallest task that you perform. Minimise any sort of distractions and plan and schedule your work. Time management is very important as procrastination is the thief of time. As and when you start giving priority to things that are actually important, you surely will see the positive consequences and will never look back in time for the time wasted, unproductive.

  1. Time!!! It’s so hard to find some free time, just for me and myself, or just running from myself by creating an exudes, because i’m not ready yet?

  2. Time spent on self reflection is never wasted. It is a course of duration where you establish an intimate relationship and understanding with yourself. You need to carve out time to care for yourself and kindle your own fire. Self healing, self love and self worth will always invest in self development. Is there anything more valuable?
